Hold Down Stick

Safety should be everyone's priority when woodworking.

To keep my fingers safe when cutting small pieces on the table saw and miter saw I made this nifty hold down stick. It's sturdy, comfortable and works quite well. The cool feature is the feet - made from tire valve stems from your car. They have a strong metal shaft for support but a grippy rubber foot to hold on to work pieces.

Materials

  • Wood - 1x2 - 13" long

  • Tire Valve Stems - Find at your local auto parts store

  • Epoxy

  • Finish (oil)

Be sure to watch the video below on how I made it.
