I have a love hate relationship with cabinets. They are great for storage, but cabinet doors are annoying. There's one particular cabinet door that's always in the way in my shop. This cabinet holds my cordless drills and drivers along with lots of screws. This cabinet door is always open! That means the cabinet door is always in the way. In over-engineering fashion, I created a mechanical vertical cabinet door lifter mechanism which opens the door vertically. Since I have plenty of space above the cabinet, this mechanism raises the door up and out of the way allowing access to the cabinet without the door being in the way. It's a cool solution indeed.
