VIEWER SPECIAL: Mike's Overhead Dust Collector

Updated: Jan 7, 2023

Mike sent in some photos of his overhead table saw dust collector he built from my plans.

"The overarm build is finished in Ridged Orange. I have to say the suction power is a bit weak, so I purchased from HF the 2 HP model which is a significant increase. I will be adding 4 inch DWV PVC and a multi valve gate box with plexi-glass in front that will slide to line up the holes. I am building a small house outside the back wall of my garage for the collector to sit in. Seeing as how the unit is outside I elected to forgo the plastic collection bag and cloth filter. I will just attach the cyclone drum to a new trash can with a clean out door in the bottom. Air will be vented to atmosphere via a louvered vent door. This will keep the suction power constant, as the filter bag can't clog up."
